New wildfire burning in northern Colorado

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — More than three dozen firefighters have been requested to battle a new wildfire in Larimer County Wednesday.

The Camman Fire is burning south of Highway 14 near the Cache la Poudre Wilderness.

Reghan Cloudman, spokesperson for the Arapho and Roosevelt National Forests says the fire is estimated at about three acres. Firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, Larimer County Emergency Services and local fire departments are responding to the scene.

Air support is also ready to assist. Two helicopters and a Single Engine Air Tanker are on order or en route.

Crews face warm temperatures and gusty winds on the fire lines Wednesday afternoon.

About 120 firefighters are currently working on containing the Stuart Hole wildfire northwest of Livermore in Larimer County. That fire has burned about 230 acres and was 45 percent contained Wednesday.

The new fire is not far from the Hewlett Fire, which burned just under 8,000 acres in and near Poudre Canyon. Officials say smoke from the Hewlett Fire will likely be visible for weeks to come.
