DENVER — Two train engines collided in the rail yard at 47th Ave. and Packing House Rd. in Denver Monday.

Denver Fire received the call at 10:36 a.m.  Crews found one engine partially off the tracks and leaking diesel fuel.

Denver Fire spokesman Phil Champagne says about 2,000 gallons of fuel spilled. Firefighters put down a layer of foam.

The accident happened on the railroad’s private property, so a private contractor was hired to handle cleanup of the spilled fuel.

There were no injuries, and no water source was threatened.
