How many people admit to peeing in the pool?
Warm weather may lure you to a public pool to cool off, but you may want to think twice before diving in.
A new survey by the Water Quality and Health Council finds that one in five American adults admits to urinating in public swimming pools.
Also, nearly 70-percent of those surveyed say they don’t shower before taking a dip.
Health experts say urine, sweat and cosmetics can mix with chlorine to create irritants that can lead to health problems for swimmers.
The Water Quality and Health Council is providing free pool test strips this summer so swimmers can check the pH and chlorine levels before getting in.
