Guns found inside car at high school

PARKER, Colo. – At least two guns were found inside a car at Chaparral High School in Parker Monday afternoon, authorities said.

According to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ron Hanavan, deputies received information about weapons on school property and “contacted the parties involved” with assistance from the Douglas County School District.

Hanavan said no threats were made to the school or against any individuals.

He said the vehicle in the student lot belonged to a student, but he didn’t say why the student had the guns.
