DENVER — The Broncos picked a quarterback, a running back and a defensive tackle on a busy Friday night at the NFL Draft for the team.

Denver traded up in the 3rd round of the draft to select running back Ronnie Hillman from San Diego State.

“Ronnie Hillman from SDSU – very explosive RB who has the ability to score every time he touches the ball. Happy he’s a Bronco,” VP of football operations John Elway said in a Twitter post.

Earlier in the evening, Denver selected quarterback Brock Osweiler with their second pick in the second round.

Osweiler, 6’7″, played at Arizona State.

“I felt a great connection w/the coaching staff…I think this is a tremendous fit and I can’t wait to get to work in Denver,” he says.

With their first pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Broncos selected Derek Wolfe, a defensive tackle from Cincinnati, as the 4th pick in the second round.

“Derek is a versatile DT who plays with great intensity! He can do a lot of things for us on the defensive line,” Elway said in a Twitter post.
