WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A virus sweeping through an elementary school has forced St. Vrain School District officials to close the school Friday.

Black Rock Elementary School in Erie will be closed because of a large number of students and staff who are ill.

The virus is causing nausea, vomiting and fever.

The school will undergo a thorough cleaning this weekend before classes resume on Monday.
