February 2012: 4th Snowiest on Record
DENVER — February 2012 is currently the 4th snowiest on record in the Denver area. Four more inches of snow would catapult us into first place.
The official snow measurement is taken at Denver International Airport where 18.0 inches of snow has accumulated this February.
The bulk of the snow fell with the large snowstorm on February 2-3 when 15.9 inches was recorded. So far this season 52.4 inches has accumulated. That total is on the high side.
A typical winter delivers roughly 58 inches of snow.
